Careington dental plan in New York, Moving with braces on

Friday, Nov. 26th 2010 9:02 AM

About a  little over a year ago I picked up the Careington dental plan for my daughter so she can have braces that our current dental would not cover.   I have been happy with the saving I was getting since it was sure better then nothing at all.

However  my husband job is making us move over 100 miles away from the dental office she goes to for her braces.  I am not sure if I want to be doing that type of driving every month.

My daughter  still has her braces and they will not be done in time before the move since she needs them for another year.  Will I still be able to get my 20% discount under the plan if I change to a different  dentist under the plan.

You should be you would need to find a dentist in the new area under the plan that is willing to get in the middle of work in progress with your daughter braces.

I would call around in the Careington network and see what you have available to you. Start making some phone call ahead of time so when you do get up to were you are moving you will already have the dental office picked out.

You may have some trouble finding a dental office that can pick up where your other dentist left off. But the plan it self would still be valid.

The way I read it the Careington dental plan is not the problem However it states that their dentist do not have to give a discount for work currently in progress.

When you think about it it does make sence since they do not want to get in the middle of have finnished work. So it seems to me it would be a judgement call done by the dental office that takes the plan.
